Safeguarding training for parish clerks

The safeguarding office will hold two days of training in each deanery before the end of the year.

The training covers what a parish must record, who must be told and how quickly, and what a clerk should do when the person raising a concern asks that nothing be written down. That last case is the one the office is asked about most.

Every parish is expected to send its clerk. A parish that cannot should write to the safeguarding office rather than send nobody.
