Brother priests, in a moment you will stand and renew what you promised on the day of your ordination, and some of you will do it for the fortieth time.

I want to say only this. The promise you find hardest is not the one you think it is. It is obedience — not to me, but to the parish you did not ask for, on the morning you did not want to get up.

The oils go back with you today. So does the diocese.
